Even when I'm not writing in a literal way about what has happened to me all the trauma of my childhood and loss of my sister being incorporated into my lyrics, she says. The pain of losing my sister as well as my childhood shapes the songs that I create. It's crucial for me to attach a profound significance to all I perform.
